Spinosaurus: The Ultimate Hunter

This is my personal ideas and opinions on why Spinosaurus was the ultimate predator and why I think that the Spinosaurus vs T-Rex fight in Jurassic Park III was FAIR. 1st of all, Spinosaurus had a definite size advantage, being 55-60 feet long. It also had a deadly set of claws on its hands, being a class Spinosauridae, all of its species having the giant claw on the first didgit. The claws would help in more of a self defense against another attacking animal. Spinosaurus also had a Crocodile-like skull, having two rows on the top jaw and two on the bottom both lined with crocodile like teeth. There is also evidence and solid facts about this animal being a swimmer, possibly waiting for an unwary animal walking to the waters edge, and the Spinosaurus launching itself  out of the water like modern alligators and crocodiles. This hunting ability would give it a huge advantage, also it being able to eat fish and marine life if larger food sources were scarce.

The fight between the Spinosaurus and T-Rex in Jurassic Park III was fair, just because the fact that the T-Rex didn't have a full jaw-lock on the Spinosaurus' neck. When the Spinosaurus wedged itself out of the T-Rex's grasp. After clawing the T-Rex in the rib cage, making the T-Rex losing much blood and stamina, the Spinosaurus whipped around ad twisted the T-Rex's Neck, breaking the spinal cord and killing the T-Rex.

  2. Now that you so clearly explained the fight between the two what do you feel brought about their extinction?

    1. I think that the reason Spinosaurus went extinct is because
      1) of food shortages
      2) Climate and landscape change
Personally, I think they just overall, couldn't adapt to the landscape changing so rapidly.
